One of the greatest adventures of my photography career so far has been taking on the challenge of photographing a room full of “Baking Babies.” Christina Danner, with Supreme Sweets, and I collaborated for this adventure. Christina is an amazing baker, and Supreme Sweets has captured the sweet tooth of so many in our local area and beyond. The idea came to us one day as we were talking, and the adventure began. Finding the right babies for the job, baking the pies and collecting what would be our set. We ended up with one little man baker named Jack:
As you can see, my studio was turned into a “Country Kitchen” for this shoot. The pies, and small cakes in the back of the set were all created by Christina at the Supreme Sweets kitchen! (You can view her work at www.SupremeSweets.net or on her facebook page: www.facebook.com/supremesweets.net
After getting Jack secured for his position, we began to fill in spots for the girls. The original goal was to have all “sitting” babies. We didn’t want them falling over, but it would be nice if they weren’t running away too! ha ha BUT, there was one sweet little lady who stole our heart and her spot in the pot, which helped her sit up as she’s not quite steady.
From there, we got more awesome little girls ranging from 6 months to 1 year to play too. Each of them have unique personalities and they are all so beautiful. As we situated all the babies, and got parents ready for the shot… I asked everyone to be quiet so I could make noises to get all of their attention at the same time! What FUN it was!
Bringing them all together was so much fun… It lasted about two minutes, so we had to get them in fast and get the shot!
